Kurt, Thanks. I'll give that a shot.

When starting Charting directly, it may use its own set of default settings, but when called from Legacy Family Tree, it uses some "remembered" settings from a previous session and those settings got changed or corrupted somehow to something that Charting can handle internally, but cause the error when trying to export to pdf. I tested and found that, when called from Legacy Family Tree, Charting does remember the last used appearance settings for a specific chart type, even when a previous chart was not saved. I don't find a "restore defaults" function that might easily correct the problem. Suggest you check all your Appearance option settings, especially the numeric ones - line thickness, font sizes, box sizes, etc. Since you're getting different results from an alternate approach you can compare the settings between the two to look for any differences. -----Original Message----- From: Cathy-0 [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, November 04, 2013 5:38 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Legacy Charting problem Virginia, Thanks, That's exactly what I have done. Whether I click on "Calculate" or on the "OK" button, the same error message is created. "Invalid floating point operation." I've since uninstalled Legacy Charting and then went to their web site to install a current version but that did not solve the problem. I even uninstalled Adober Reader X and then went to Adobe's web site to install it. Again, the problem still persists. The one thing that I did learn was that the problem only happens when I begin the process in Legacy and click on the charting icon to open Legacy Charting and begin my chart from there. If, however, I only open Legacy Charting and select a Legacy database and then a person within that database, I can create the chart without any problems. So, whatever the problem is, it would appear that it is caused by something in the interface between Legacy and Legacy Charting. This is the sequence I used: Create the chart > click on Publish on top menu > tick export to PDF > press Calculate button and select 'View after Exporting.' The chart opened in Adobe without a problem. Let us know if that works for you.
