Hi Jay – that sounds like a good idea. Where is the “Repair Multi Media Paths’” subroutine located. I can’t seem to find it?

When initiating the search for a picture using Legacy, the facility hangs at certain points, and the following message comes up:- Individual’s information [2861 say] (not responding) Find File (not responding) Legacy Genealogy Software for Windows is not responding. It never gets to search the D drive! Reading the help file it indicates that the search facility will progress through all files, and not just those specified in the Default location of media files. Is this then a Legacy interface problem with Windows 8? After a few temporary hang ups the last picture search hung up at- C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_pmms003.int_31bf3856ad364e35_6.2. for what this is worth? Any ideas to solve the problem? Maybe Legacy 8 will help - when it arrives. Ron Ferguson http://www.fergys.co.uk/ Mike Bridgeford <[email protected]> wrote: Hi Ron – I have changed the paths in options>customise>locations. This happens every time. For some reason it will only search windows/C drive. How can I change the search for picture function to look at the D drive and not just the C drive? There has to be a simple solution – but cant see it! If the latter then I would expect that. Change the paths in Options>Customise>Locations. The computer has a split drive; a ‘C’ drive OS for software and a ‘D’ drive for data and storage. The family files etc all went well and the program was stored on the C drive. I put the photographs on the D drive. All my certs. etc are in jpeg format. When I tried to let the computer search for the picture files, it will not automatically search the D drive, where the photos are stored. It looks only at the C drive on Windows, and will not search the D drive automatically. I have had to load the pictures by manually searching for them on the D drive. Is there a way to sort this out?
