Yep. Same thing here. I just deleted all my connections to FamilySearch because I prefer to hand it over entirely in one piece--if I do. You get the Ancestry.com ******** who stop by and snatch up what they can just to add more numbers to their tree. I didn't spend the last 40 years compiling and researching family history to give away to people who have no respect for what they are stealing.
By the way, I tried to "fix" some of the data on FS and it didn't. It just added to it. When I deleted my connections, the information I provided stayed there so I am assuming you have to go in manually and delete it. No fault to FS, but there are thieves who just want to add what they can to their Ancestry trees like it's a game. I can't tell you how many times I've contacted these people and asked them to remove the erroneous information they have posted because I know my direct ancestors very well and know they do not belong with their families. They never respond. This is why I don't like public family trees. I'm looking into copyrights, but because so much data is from other sources this could be complicated. Sharing is one thing; stealing is another. Just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it's free.
