Don't forget also there is the My Toolbar item on the main ribbon. That toolbar can contain many more items than the 10 on the quick access toolbar. The My Toolbar is another option on the design > Toolbars menu. That is more like the old 7.5 toolbar where you can add most items available from other ribbons plus two buttons which you can customize before adding to your my toolbar. I have one custom button set to open my web browser at a web page I visit frequently and another to open my word processor.
Right click on the custom 1 or custom 2 buttons to customize them then drag the customized button to my toolbar.
