John, You are correct in your understanding of what is occurring. From a logical point of view, perhaps it does not make sense. Let me explain briefly in point order. We have always maintained our different "media" types, in specific sub-folders. In a top/down hierarchal format, our top "media" folder has been called MultimediaGeo. Under this folder (MultimediaGeo) we have separate sub-folders for documents, pictures, sounds and videos and each relative to the specific file type/s. In V7 through Customise, Locations there were specific windows to which one would link respective file types, for Pictures we would navigate and link to MultimediaGeo\Pictures and as such opening Picture Centre would always maintain the link correctly. V8 does not now have the specific windows as referred above, but at 6.2 refers only Default location of media files. Notwithstanding this point we are aware that through View Current List of Media Files, one can add/delete links within Master Media Folder List. My brain would consider that for the way we have setup folders as referred above, the folder MultimediaGeo would be what Legacy is asking for. This is not the case and as you confirmed in your response, for Picture Centre to ALWAYS correctly find the picture files, the link, in our case, must point to MultimediaGeo\Pictures. Since your response have amended 6.2 to refer MultimediaGeo\Pictures and then Relinked all files, which resolves the reported problem, as Picture Centre will always load from the link, but this then raises another problem. If one now opens a sourced event and attempts to Add Media to this source, we are given the choice between Pictures, Sounds, Video, Documents, Internet Website (in the order indicated) and assumed hard coded. Clicking on Documents will then take you to MultimediaGeo\Pictures, but this is not the location of documents which are located at MultimediaGeo\Documents. Yes one can always navigate away from this folder to MultimediaGeo\Documents, but why should this be required when V7 maintained the correct links to the respective media types?
Will leave you and the Forum to consider the above and perhaps undertake some testing and advise back if my concerns are founded. Thanks, Barry -----Original Message----- From: John B. This is what I think it is... When you close and re-open Legacy, the "remembered" folder in the picture list returns to being your default folder as set in Option 6.2. If you want to look again at your picture folder you have to navigate back to it. However, if you just close and re-open Picture Center, it will remember the last folder you were looking at.
