In trying to fix unresolved Geobase locations, I’m seeing seemingly
inconsistent Geobase mapping of locations as follows: (this is 7.5 not yet
purchased v 8):

For example, I had this address listed in wrong format 4 different ways, for
same person, but different year events:

This is  a Senior Living Facility in Walnut Creek, CA;

1125 Fairlawn Ct. #4, Walnut Creek, Contra Costa, California

This now should be the correct address(minus USA if that matters), 2 of the
listings weren’t associated (in the Master Location list anyway) with that
person(if that makes a difference), and 2 were. But, after deleting 2 of the
addresses not associated in the Master Location list, for the same address as
above, I get 2 DIFFERENT Geo map locations for that same address, one is
correct and one is for a totally different county far away in another part of
California.

Is this a glitch or does it have something to do with deleting/correcting
method I used?

Another case:

I had this location first:

1110 Davis St., Ward # from 1920 census, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

(I now have listed this more correct location;)

1110 Davis St., South Milwaukee, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53172

Removing the “ward” from the event “place” line helped(I put it into event
description field) helped,

but the geo map for this location still shows me a location in another county
in Wisconsin, which is not the right place.

I’m confused also because some addresses that seem to be “incomplete” still
“map” correctly, which makes me think it doesn’t have so much to do with
format? Or?? Again, am I missing something or is this a glitch? Or if I make
a correction, do I have to close out the program to save the editing? Or ??

Another OCCASIONAL issue I have(not necessarily Geobase?) is sometimes when I
enter a certain county location in the address(birth/death fields) Legacy says
the county doesn’t/didn’t exist, when in fact it does/did in the correct year
listed. Since this only happens SOMETIMES, would this be a glitch? Anything to
do with the other Geobase mapping issue above?

I do also get Error 3102 messages (“entering deleted RIN” when I enter/import
new people into the database, I’m guessing that is a separate issue but mention
it in case it is related.

Thanks so much for any help/info; Pam
