I am getting tired of repeating this: "should" is not working here.
The reality of this situation is not how it "should" be. And I need answers to how the situation really is. ---- repeat of questions for Brian ----- It looks like I am either being forced to either (a) dedicate my entire K drive to Legacy by the Media Relinker looking only at the entire drive and not at a specific designated folder and all of its sub-folders or (b) dump all my files into a single Media folder, dealing with file name duplications in the short term and a massive hodge-podge of files on an on-going basis for as long as I use Legacy in the future. Are these really my only two choices? If those are really what I am being forced to do, then I will have to go with B, ugly as it is. ---- end of repeat of questions for Brian ----- ________________________________ From: Mike Fry <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 3, 2013 10:17 AM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Migrating Pictures etc from 7.5 Folder to 8 Media Folder On 2013/12/03 19:36, Ed Carpenter wrote: > If you convert your file from 7.5 to 8, the existing media paths should remain > intact and still be linked. Leave the media where they are and both 7.5 and 8.0 can access it. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
