I also use both TB and gMail.
Emails sent to me first go
  to my forwarding service.
(A forwarding service is great when
you are nomadic and change ISPs often.)
My forwarding service then sends them
to my ISP and also to gMail.
My ISP sends to me and TB collects them.
But it seems not all emails from user groups
are successfully sent to gMail.

As for security, spam, etc., email will never
be totally secure. Email is basically not secure.
It is difficult to make it so secure that no one
outside the sender and the receiver can know
that an email has been sent. And no government
will allow this to happen when using an ISP.
Since we send emails at our governments'
permission, our governments want some access.

If you have never received warnings and others
have for the same email, then I would think
you have weaker security. Security is a serious
issue with Windoz operation system. It is a big
target and suffers a tremendous number of attacks.
That is why I use a safer Linux OS for everything,
but Legacy.

In about 3 months MS is dropping support for Windows XP.
