I have just updated to my Samsung 10.1 android tablet at no expense. I have
reset Families file settings under Options Settings to reflect my new Legacy
Family Tree 8 locations for multimedia and family files. I can navigate to and
update Individual To Do Lists which I use as a research log so I am happy with
that for the moment.

I currently have no trouble if I connect my android device as a usb device.
During the initial set up I said No to Kies and I recall saying no to anything
else that wanted to take control during the initial set up. The tablet appears
as its own folder under Computer in File Explorer without a drive letter which
I wasn’t expecting but why try and fix something that appears to be working.

Regards

Good question Judith, I have only recently purchased the previous version, and
have yet to install it.

It is by no means easy!
