Basically, the girls need to have two sets of parents a) Fran + Denis, and b) Fran + Jim For the first set of parents, the girls would be the natural, biological children. So far so good! This is normal stuff. Now, when Fran remarries Jim, she gets a second spouse and the girls are still Frans' natural children, but they need to be assigned Jim as another father and their status set as Adopted. To do this you need Fran + Jim as the Family. Then, Link an existing child to the family. Select one of the girls. Ignore the warning about the child being a member of another family. Repeat for the second girl. Get both girls linked to Fran + Jim, then open up the Children's Settings. Set the Relationship to Father to Adopted. Your only problem after that, should be whether and how to record any Surname change for the girls. -- Regards, Mike Fry Johannesburg (g) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
