Denise, Helen, et al,

One of the challenges with using 7.4,0.45 - or any version of 7.4 - is that the version of FamilySearch that comes with that does not support the current FamilySearch. It only works, if it works at all, with the version of FamilySearch that was recently made read only and will shortly be discontinued.

If you wish to use Family Search Tree, you need to be on the latest version of Legacy 7.5.

Further, since Legacy 8 was introduced, Legacy 7.5 was likely frozen, including the FamilySearch add on. The updates to that will likely only be available with Legacy 8.

The best way to look at L8 and see if you might wish to move there is to download the free version and install it.

Then COPY COPY COPY you family file to where ever you want to use and only open the copy with L8. If you do that you can still keep working with L7.obsolete.

Leon's list of new features should be enough to take a peak. But L8 is from a quality point of view a much more reliable tool than earlier version. It is different and some of those differences will need to get used to.

I, too, have Vewsion 7.4.0.45 and am disinclined to upgrade.  My version works just fine, and seeing all the emails about various 'bugs' gives me pause.

Many of these bugs that were supposedly fixed in version 7.5.0.278 I've

me, I just plain didn't want them.

And too many useless-to-me bells and whistles features.

Good luck with your database.
