Hi Kathy It could depend on what you enter in the Event Options of the Individual Chart report and also what you define in the event definition sentence (seen in the Add/Edit Event as "Edit Event Sentence Definition"), use the Master Lists' Event Definition for global changes.
One can add the roles to wife, husband, son, daughter etc on the Add Roles list. For example mine shows as the wife: [FirstName] was counted as [MainPerson]'s [EventRole] as living [atPlace] in the [EventName]. Sarah was counted as James Streets's Wife as living at Lane End, Chapeltown, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England in the 1911 Census. This event was shared from James Streets who also shared it with Edward Ingram Streets (Son) and Lizzie Streets (Daughter). I have already submitted a bug to Legacy regarding the capitalisation of the EventRole as I tried to [-EventRole] but it wouldn’t force the first letter as lower case. Hope this helps, Jemima -----Original Message----- From: KathyB [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 28 December 2013 18:10 To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Shared Events - Printing Out in Reports Am I missing something with shared events? At first I thought they were really great in that I didn't have to copy and paste the same item for each individual person - but now I'm not sure I'm using them correctly. For example - I put a census event in for the head of household, and share it with all other family members. Great, so far. But, when I want to print out the wife's "Individual Report" the event detail doesn't show - it only states she was a "witness" to the event and states whose record the primary event can be found on. What I'm wanting is for the complete event detail to show on each and every person's individual report - not just a reference to someone else's page. Am I missing something, or do I just need to do what I've been doing in the past and copying and pasting the event to each person? -- Kathy B --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast!
