Hi Bernie, I expect the no partial icons for you is simply a matter of your screen size (or settings) compared to mine. Not something to worry about.
I'm not sure which option you may need to display these information boxes I'm seeing when I hover over an icon. Perhaps someone else can tell us which setting controls these?
