Don I'm sorry if I didn't make my point clearly. The Rule gives the impression that temporarily unsubscribing from the list is straightforward, and may be it is for most, but for me it wasn't. This is the point I was trying to make with the remainder of the sentence that was left out of your quote from my email: "I assumed that temporarily unsubscribing would not be a problem."
I was not complaining about the rule and I totally agree with you about the use of autoresponders on mailing lists.
