I have used VMWare Fusion and Parallels with Windows 7 installed under
each of these.
Legacy 8 runs fine.
In Parallels, Legacy 8 has some problems with setting up the correct
drive (C:\...\Legacy Family Tree\).
It trys to use the drives on the MAC side for searching files using the
File Relinker.

The VMWare Fusion works much better with the drives in Windows 7.

Either one is very good. I use Parallels as my primary one with Legacy.

I have the latest versions of each. Parallels Desktop 9 and VMWare
Fusion 6.

Good luck.
