Hi Sherry,

Warren posted this on the LegacyFS forum and you responded by telling him to
turn the Double Dating on. That appeared to solve his immediate concern.

However, there seems to be more of an issue, as I outlined to Warren – below,
and thought I would share this with the LUG to see if the results can be
duplicated.

Hi Warren,

I hope you will join us on the LUG – this forum is for Legacy FamilySearch.

I tested the your dates below and they all enter as shown in my program
v8.0.0.414 (caveat – I did not test Bef 15 Mar 1583/84)

I did not have Double Dates turned on so I tested with Double dates turned on
as well – no problems.

NOW I have an issue – by turning off Double Dating the entered information
changes to Bef 15 Mar 1584.

THEN I closed/reopened Legacy and the dates will stay as I enter them!!!!

Sorry, it gets even more weird… they stay the same until I enter Bef 15 Mar
1583/84 which is changed to Bef 15 Mar 1584 – THEN the other dates (new
entries) will be changed to that as well.

Sounds like another bug – but maybe this is a good one J

Subject: [LegacyFS] Date entry question

Hi Legacy folks,

This is my first post to this hopefully active site, so let me know if I need
to change the way I present questions.

I have Legacy 8, Version: 8.0.0.414

When putting in a date field such as:

“Bef 15 Mar 1583/1584”, Legacy changes it to “Bef 15 Mar 1584”.

When I enter “Bef 15 Mar 1583-1584”, Legacy changes it to “Bef 15 Mar 1584”.

When I enter “Bef 15 Mar 1583/84”, Legacy changes it to “Bef 15 Mar 1584”.

When I enter “c”, Legacy changes it to “Bef 15 Mar 1584”.

I have tried turning-off various data entry options, but can't seem to find the
correct one.

What is the right way to enter this information?

Thank you for your anticipated help,

Warren Buschmann
