Sorry Jay (and anyone else I may have misled)

What I am seeking is a way to change the displayed image associated with an
attached document, on a document by document basis, rather than a universal
change to the single default image.

the Media Gallery (Legacy 7.5)

In Ver 7.5

In your main Legacy Folder look for the jpg. called lv.jpg and rename that to
something else.

Then add whatever image you want to use into that same folder and name it lv.jpg

Does anyone know if it is possible to permanently change the (very unattactive)
default image that is displayed in the Media Gallery dialog in Legacy 7.5 for
any pdf or Microsoft Word files that have been attached using the “File“ button
(as distinct from the “Picture“ button)?

I would like to be able to display various different images to this default
image for different classes of attached document, or even a different image
associated with each individual document in some cases. This would make the
(type of) document attached more immediately recognisable.

I could find no way within the Legacy application itself to change the default
image for selected documents

Using a document attached to a Source Detail record as a test, I found that it
was possible using Microsoft Access to manually change the values stored in the
PicName and and IDBPPic fields and for the new image to be displayed in the
Assigned Sources screen and the Media tab of the Source Detail screen. However,
the new image was not displayed in the Media Gallery screen accessed from the
Source Detail screen. Also, as soon as I clicked on the Close button and
returned back to the Source Detail Screen, the displayed image immediately
reverted back to the default If.jpg image. On the other hand, if I clicked on
the Cancel button the new new image was retained in the Source Detail and
Assigned Sources Screens. I also noted that the action of clicking on the Close
button in the Media Gallery screen actually deleted the existing record within
the tblBR table and created a new replacement record with the PicName field
updated to If.jpg and the IDBPPic field updated to 1, all other details
unchanged.

I would really like it if there was a way to get this functionality into
Legacy, even if it requires a programming change which I can‘t imagine would be
very difficult.

What do others think and does anyone know if Legacy 8.0 behaves in the same way?
