Cheryl,
When you click on her spouse icon, does it not show an unknown spouse in the 
list?  It would be very odd if not as the children require a father, even if 
unknown, and Legacy will automatically add one.  I don't recall it showing 
unknown spouses by highlighting the spouse icon but he should be in the list.
