Hello,

Thanks so much Cathy for your time trying to help; is there anyone on here that
might have some experience w/ using legacy 8 w/ fusion? (If that is the problem)

My problem is either getting my legacy file to restore or backup on my mac
mavericks with windows 7 and vm fusion installed. My file was initially
installed using a flash drive and downloaded as a compressed file. I can open
and get into the file and use it just fine and in my folders I see both a
compressed and what should be a full file folder version with the full amount
of mb showing, but when I go to back up EITHER folder it only shows a zip file
and I can't figure out how to decompress(if that is the right word) it to make
a regular working file. The zip file won't save most of my work, only added
persons and sources linked to a particular person, but no new notes or other
data. I tried opening the file also w/ "extraction" using the right click mouse
but it still saves as zip file. I am NOT that computer literate and not sure
how all the file management works. I'm guessing I'm missing something really
easy but I'm just not getting it.

so not sure if this is an issue with saving with fusion, it wants to save it as
a shared folder in a Z drive but I can manually put it into C drive as well,
although neither seems to make a difference in resolving the zip file issue. Do
I just need to start over with the download from the flash drive or will that
end up with the same problem again? Is there something about the media file
that is interfering with the download? I don't have any media attached. There
must be a simple way to convert this file. . . . .(if that is the right word).
or maybe I'm just not using the right search criteria to find the answer?

I'm on the road this week with limited sporadic internet access so am not able
to find other sources online(e.g the media link w/in Legacy help) to try to
sleuth out how to do this. If there is someone who knows what to do, is it
possible to list a step by step how to resolve this? Or am I just stuck? Or
other suggestions? Would really appreciate any type of response since I am
computer challenged at this point and have been visiting a new found relative
and would like to be able to utilize the program fully.

Thanks so much for your time, whoever can help, Sincerely, Pam
