Thanks, Richard. I'm wrestling with a spreadsheet that I've used to track what
documents are missing for my direct line ancestors. Might just need to break
down and take a closer look at LTools--I'm a few releases behind. --Paula

Forget Excel. MS Access and ltools sort dates perfectly. No query needed, Just
sott on tblIR.birthsd.

Hey, Pat, I wanted to share with you what I just re-discovered about Excel: It
can't handle dates earlier than 1900. I knew this, but had forgotten! I was
doing just what I suggested you do, and I ran into all sorts of date format
issues in Excel. *sigh* You'd think they could fix that, but no. So, I'm
guessing sorting your whole database by birth DATE could get a bit messy in
Excel. Or maybe there is a way to set your date format parameter in Legacy
before you export that would put the dates in the integer format in the CSV
file...? I may have just crossed over my techie limit line. --Paula
