Hi Pat, If your father is not in the file at all now, then you can restore a backup, give it a different name so you don't overwrite your current file, and then export just your father (by tag or focus group) - but export to a Legacy file. You don't use Gedcom to go from Legacy to Legacy. Then import that file into your real file and link him in - or easier - once you've restored the backup, use Split Screen View and have both files open and drag him from one to the other. Then check all the links for him are made correctly. Currently your mother will have an unknown spouse.
I suspect when you linked yourself back, you linked to either your father or your mother individually rather than linking to existing parents. I think it's better to link parents to an existing child rather than a child to existing parents as there is less room for creating false marriages. However, next time you get false marriages and the people are only in the file once, the way forward is to unlink the husband or wife to the unwanted marriage. With the unwanted marriage showing, right click on one of the partners and choose the unlink option.
