Paula I use LTools and I use a COPY of my Legacy Database and run this SQL;
UPDATE tblIR SET UserRef = tblIR.BirthSD WHERE BirthSD > 0 Which sets the UserRef field to be equal to what is in Legacys Birth Sort date field. (except when there is no date in the field) Then I open that copied database Then in Legacy Index view, change the Column configuration to include the User Ref field and change the sort by to UserRef (instead of sort by RIN) You can then have an index view that looks something like http://www.1familytree.com/genealogy/1ft_tempshow.php I hope that helps Jay On Sun, Sep 7, 2014 at 2:09 PM, Paula Ryburn <[email protected]> wrote: > Thanks, Cheryl, for the formatting suggestions.
