Liz, You do not say which people from your file you want to include.
I would start with going to your name in the file Select Tools> Set Relationships Clear ALL first.... Then Set Relationships (with your name in the selected person box) Now anyone in the file that is related to you is marked as related. Now Tag the related persons Go to EDIT>Tag Records First pick a Tag number you want to use and make sure to UNTAG EVERYONE from that tag number. Lets use Tag 1 for the example. Now Go to Search>FIND>DetailedSearch> Fill in Look for - Individual Where - from the drop list select relationship EQUALS >From the Drop List select RELATED Make Sure the "Clear List First " button is checked, then click Create List Once your list is created - While still in the search window Click on OPTIONS SELECT Advanced Tagging The tag records box should open Make sure that "Mark Record" tag number is set to the Tag you want Click All persons in Search List Now that everyone related to you is tagged Create a Legacy Gedcom to use to upload to ancestry File>Export To >Gedcom Produce File for "Legacy" I would suggest to change the Char Set to UTF8 (instead on Ansel) (this is essential if you have any place locations or surnames that use letters with diatrics symbols like รณ ) In the Record Selection choose Everyone Tagged with (whatever Tag # you used) You should also ensure that the Parents, spouses and children box is checked (tho' technically you shouldnt need to ) Then click on create file and select a FILENAME you want and a location you will remember. Hopefully if I left anything out, someone will let us know. Hope that helps Jay On Mon, Sep 8, 2014 at 2:18 PM, Liz Denis <[email protected]> wrote: > I've decided I want to upload my Danish ancestors to ancestry.com. > Problem is that some of these Danish folk are not connected, merely > witnesses, and or just possibly related i.e. unlinked to the main line. > Some are from my barking up the wrong tree....however, I collected quite > some info on some lines.
