Well, as to problems, yes and no. Guess I fall into the category age wise as
to being unlikely to have the file as I'd like before the two children who want
to inherit do so. Hopefully thats a few years away. In any case, some files are
linked in Legacy where they should be and some not. They are linked to the
right person but not necessarily the correct event. This happened when I
converted my files from other genealogy software because that software upgraded
and there were problems which I could not overcome. So I chose Legacy which now
I like much better but have media file issues, see some did not transfer to
Legacy at all further exasperating the problem.
I can track all this down and fix but the job has proven to be massive.
Especially when Legacy upgraded version 8 and the media copy / paste function
in events stopped working. I'm about 2/3 rd complete now but it's been around
six months to get this far along. Some of the files which did transfer have
file names which are non descriptive, i.e. img. 0007. Thought as I go thru all
this I might change the file names. Also for those that did not transfer I
could change when uploading to Legacy.
Sorry for the long email and likely my inept description of matters. Also, I
understand the Legacy copy/paste issue mentioned above is fixed and will be
later released.
Best regards,
Bill
