Do not overlook the "Relationship to Father" and "Relationship to Mother". * Right click on the child list * Select "Children's settings" * Put "Guardian" in the two "Relationship to xxxx" fields as appropriate. That does NOT put the guardianship in the proper timespace in the Chronology report (that is, it does not show up at the date when the guardianship takes place), but it DOES put "(Father: Guardian) (Mother: Guardian)" in the Chronology report for the date the child was BORN when looking at the parent's chronology report.
I also created a event named ".Legal Guardian" so I can have it show up in the correct date sequence of when the guardianship actually occurred. (I prefix any event names that I create myself with a "." - that way I know to watch the results/wording in various different reports a little more carefully.) Bob Reuben, Thanks for asking a question I should have asked myself. Thanks to Jenny and Wendy for your answers. My 3rd G Grandparents died with 3 minor boys and an infant girl. The girl was adopted by a half aunt but had financial interest in the estate so the guardian was mostly concerned with the 3 boys. I think I will give the guardian a guardian event and share the event with 4 kids, 2 deceased parents and the probate Judge. That will be a big improvement over Notes. -- Richard Van Wasshnova On Mon, Oct 13, 2014 at 6:18 PM, Reuben Marchant <[email protected]> wrote: > How would I add a guardianship to the events/facts?
