The terminology in the program is misleading! Cut is associated with Paste, and
they effectively comprise a move. Delete is what you want to do, although it
would be better named as Remove. Most of those windows you refer to have an
Options button which contains the Remove item.

Additional faux pas on the part of the programmers. Open Media gallery for a
person click on the Options button. Up pops the context menu. Press the Esc key
and ... voilà ... confirm whether the link to a picture should be removed. This
is very wrong!
