I am encountering both the error situations you are. I am running Legacy 8 on
64 bit Windows 8.1. I encountered the errors on both the newest update and the
prior one. I have also tried all of the solutions offered with no resolution.
These include a partial and complete re-installation of Legacy.

I am also having no problems with other software.

I am new to Legacy. Actually I’m testing using the standard (free) version
instead of deluxe. Using the Legacy sample database, I am seeing this Error
Loading type library/DLL also. I am also seeing Error 91 when I use file
maintenance--check/repair. I have worked through a list of suggested repairs
from Legacy support and reinstalled Legacy several times in an effort to get
rid of this error to no avail. The error occurs immediately after a fresh
install. I am running 32 bit Windows 7 (latest patches) on a 64 bit processor.

I installed Legacy 8 on 64 bit Windows 7 running on a 64 bit processor and the
error did not happen.

So either the error is related to 32 bit Windows running on a 64 bit processor,
or I have something messed up deep in my machine. The only alternative I seem
to have at this point is to reinstall Windows from scratch which is a lot of
work to test a new program. I am not having problems with other programs.

Since up dating to the latest 454 version of Legacy I get the following message
when trying to access Family Search.

“Error Loading type library / DLL”

I have searched the archives but haven’t found a fix for this problem.

Has anyone else had this problem?
