What you need to do is unlink the child from the mother then use Add Parents and select the existing marriage for the husband and wife to link him/her to both parents. You may have created a double marriage for the mother when you liked the child to her alone. One marriage will be to the husband and the second to an unknown person. You may need to remove that marriage link from the mother as well.
