Hey, Ron. I finally found some time to try out your procedure for finding
mtDNA matches for myself.
I have a very short "longest" maternal line, so it was easy to verify results.
My mother & grandmother had no sisters, but my great-grandmother had two
sisters. The sisters show in the final results, but their daughters do not. I
can see that an intersection of my (or my daughter's) ancestors and Abigail
Whipple's descendents wouldn't include the sisters' daughters, but if I were
looking to see who else was alive that might be carrying the same mtDNA as
myself, I would want to include these daughters, and their daughters, and so
on. Any thoughts on how I could tweak the procedure? Not urgent for me, just
wondering.
Thanks,
