Because the whole point (or one of the points) of the Master Source/Source Details system is that you avoid the need (as far as possible) for repetition. Repetition is a waste of storage space, a waste of time and leaves much scope for making errors. Legacy is built on Access, which is a relational database and that's the way relational databases work. Having said that, you could create separate Master Sources, one for each different Ancestry URL if you wished, or you could incorporate the specific URL into the Source Detail somewhere. It's worth bearing in mind that you don't necessarily have to use the SourceWriter template fields for exactly what their field names suggest they should be used for and can happily leave some field unused if that suits your purpose. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
