Hello Mike

Many thanks for the benefit of your in-depth knowledge.
I will go ahead and de-activate the compatibility assistant. I'm looking at the
'Windows
Seven Forums', and it seems I need to install a little program to achieve it,
which they
supply. Hopefully that will stop the script errors etc.

Yes, it is disappointing that Vista is not compatible with IE11 and IE12 which
causes me
to use Chrome

I'm not too sure of the response procedure, whether to click on reply or to
re-address
the reply to the group - so we'll see where it goes.

Cheers
Charles Brasell

No! Legacy doesn't explicitly use IExplorer! It uses the Internet Engine that is
built in to Windows. This is the mechanism used by Legacy when accessing the
internet directly, and is one of the ways Microsoft got around the browser
unbundling requirements of the EU. You can set the default browser opened by
Legacy to be Chrome (see option 11.1), or if Chrome is defined as your default
browser, leave the option empty, but Research Guidance doesn't go through a
browser, therefore it will always appear as if IExplorer has been used.
