Thanks to all who replied with options. I decided that what would work well is to use the "Publishing Center" and use three chapters. The first with the Family Group Record, the second with the Ancestor Book Report of the husband, and the third with the Ancestor Book Report of the wife. Legacy generates a nice book that should be interesting to both sides of their family and having them in separate chapters is probably better than together.

Assuming that you don't care much about the philosophy of why/how and just want what you want however you can get it: Version 1 assumes you can type reasonably fast: 1. Generate the report based on the oldest grandchild of the 4-child daughter and PRINT IT TO FILE as an rtf/rich-text. 2. Open that report, and manually enter the same data for children 2 thru 4. SAVE AS rtf 3. Open report again and either print it or save-as pdf. Version 2 assumes you copy'n'paste faster than you type: 1. Generate the report based on the oldest grandchild of the 4-child daughter and PRINT IT TO FILE as an rtf/rich-text. 2. Generate a 3-generation report based on the 2nd grandchild; 3. Repeat step 2 for each of the remaining two grands. 4. Open file 1, open file 2; copy info on child 2 into file 1 immediately after child 1, close file 2, SAVE FILE 1; open file 3, copy info on child 3 into file 1 immediately after child 2, close file 3, SAVE FILE 1 ; open file 4, copy info on child 4 into file 1 immediately after child 3, close file 4, SAVE FILE 1. 5. Open report again and either print it or save-as pdf. I deal in how --most of the time-- and while I agree it would be faster and easier if there were an automatic way to get this, I've never seen a program that would do it, so I assume there's a technical reason for it. [Much as you can't give two or more start-points to a driving directions site, I guess.] Cheryl Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://support.legacyfamilytree.com Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
