I have a ged com of a DNA proven extension of my ancestor. Surprisingly, I was able to use tagging and exporting to create a gedcom file of the new information. Now I need to import it into my main family file, but I am a bit nervous about messing things up. Will the program automatically know where the new file is supposed to go? Or will it ask me how to attach the new information to my old file? Just a bit of simple idea of what to expect would make me feel much better about attempting this. This list has so many people who are tactful and understanding about those of us who struggle, that I am bold enough to ask.
