I'm thinking of returning to Legacy after an 8-9 year absence and have been looking at the Standard version (8.0.0.459). Twice now I've experienced the program locking up while I was looking at a search list.
I was searching in General Notes for references to a proprietary GEDCOM tag that had come in from my existing program but wasn't recognised in Legacy, and then I explored some of the events and sources in the resulting list of people. While I was doing this, parts of the search list window became unresponsive. It was still possible to switch between the tabs on the right, though sometimes they opened blank - switching to a different person and back seemed to fix this. However, sometimes when switching from one person to another, only one or two of the tabs updated to show the correct information, while the others showed information relating to someone else. The buttons on the bottom of the window were unresponsive, as were the Close button and the red X button. The only way I found to recover from this was to close Legacy with the Task Manager, and while this was happening I got a warning "Run-time error '402': Must close or hide topmost modal window first" Did I do something wrong? Or is there an easy fix?
