Thanks for the responses. I haven't opened Legacy again since I wrote before, so haven't had opportunity to try Mike's suggestion for myself. However, I've now investigated further and found a Windows error message and corresponding entry in the Action Center, as follows:
Event 1002, Application Hang The program Legacy.exe version 8.0.0.459 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. Process ID: 1120 This text appears in the Administrative Events log and was reproduced word for word in the Action Center, where it is labelled "Legacy.exe Stopped responding". Clicking for further details in the Administrative Events log, the "friendly" view of the binary data includes the words "Top level window is idle". (I appreciate the above were triggered by my forcing the program to close by using the Task Manager, but I had no choice. Rather strangely, there was an entry for the first freeze only, not the second.) I'm not an expert, but this strongly suggests to me that the problem is in Legacy rather than Windows. And having it happen twice while using a new piece of software does seem to imply that the new software is responsible for the problem. Does this help anyone work out what happened, and how it could be fixed? Arthur On 11/01/2015 10:40, Shannon Thomas wrote: > Hi Mike...none of those suggestions work either.
