I do not believe it it will be possible for a DNA test to give names, dates and places. It will be a probable or possible connection. From there it will take some work looking for documentation to make a case for the connection. However, if the DNA reduces the possibilities from thousands or more to much fewer, then it is worth the try.
Any suggestions to any forums where I could put a message asking if anyone has a relative that was in an orphanage in Chicago at the time of the 1871 fire, it would be appreciated.
