Another option is to Set relationship so that the people you are more interested in show a relationship and the others don't. You can add "relationship" to columns on Index View and Descendant View though it's less relevant there. The relationship should show above the main couple in Family View. If it doesn't, check your colour settings. You may have the text colour the same as the background. Then just work on the ones that are related - but whether that's a wise strategy depends where and when you are researching. In some places the families are inter-related multiple times and if you don't trace the surrounding families you don't realise this.
