Sent this yesterday but it bounced back with one of those greylist messages, so trying again.

If you have a backup, but not current enough that you want to do a full restore, then restore to an alternate directory, create a split window, open the alternate/backup database in the second window, and copy just the missing individual back to your main database. Alternate for changing parents is with the child as the primary focus, click on the parents icon in the icon ribbon just below the person. In the window that pops up, you can link to a new set of parents and unlink from the incorrect set. I prefer this method as I tend to forget the name and/or ref id of a child I've unlinked and have trouble finding them again to link to the new parents, especially if it's a common surname or one I have a lot of in my database. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2015 3:00 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Moving children and replacing people. Provided you kept an up to date backup you could restore that and start again as Michele described.
