I like the use of 'copy and paste' rather than what I used "cut and paste', since that is really what I do. :-)
Since I started this discussion, I have an update on what I think my problem was and how I solved it. I am using Windows 7. I did a reboot of Windows and still had the problem. I am using a free clipboard called 'freeclips' "M8software.com/clipboards/freeclip/freeclip.htm". I believe this was causing the problem with the 'normal' copy and pasting in Windows I found that 'freeclips' was being blocked by my antivirus program Webroot. [the author has a video on how to solve this with Webroot and probably with other antivirus programs.] By unblocking 'freeclips' in Webroot under security tab, all copy and paste from Ancestery, Find a Grave, Notepad, familysearch.org, Chrome, IE and Firefox, Word, etc. into and out of Legacy works. I highly recommend the 'freeclips' program because I can copy small and large items into 25 separate slots in 'free clips' and only have to click on the slot to paste into Legacy. Since I do a lot of copy and paste of the same information into several records of people, this has cut down the amount of time going back and forth between records doing only one copy and paste at a time. To clear old clips from the all the slots, just right click on the set of clips and clear them. Then you can reuse the slots over and over. I would like to know if the 'freeclips' program will help those with Windows 8.
