The C means Clear

I wonder if you're not in the report you think you are. Have you gone to
the Descendant Chart instead of the Descendant Book Report or Descendant
Narrative Book Report?

If you are in the right report and reset settings didn't help, sometimes
it helps to close Legacy, delete the relevant .usr file and then restart
Legacy. That definitely returns reports to default settings.

For Legacy 8 the usr files are at Documents\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\usr
Desc.usr is for the Descendant Chart
Descend.usr is for the Descendant Book
DescNarr.usr is for the Descendant Narrative Book

Note .usr files are text files which can be opened in Notepad and what
they're for is in the top line. Just don't edit them.
