Hanebury - personal experience on my part, no an uploaded GEDCOM
with photo, Census citations etc will not be linked on
Ancestry.com Often you will even get a Source labeled:
Unsourced Citation. Depending what information you include in
what fields in Legacy, Ancestry.com handles events, citations,
jpgs differently. For example, when I add a Census to an
Individual in Legacy I transcribe the entire family information
into the Legacy Assigned Sources "Text Comments". When I
uploaded the GEDCOM to ancestry.com all those transcriptions
were listed in the ancestry.com Citation Information with the
proper Census but the link to the actual Census and image is
not.  I don't believe you would be pleased with that result
according to your comment. If you want a jpg on ancestry.com it
has to be uploaded after your tree is created. Having your
Legacy Tree will make linking jpg and other files easier.
I agree with Eliz about uploading a very small tree to practice on to see if you get the results you want, make sure your sample has lots of different types of Sources so you can see how they are handled. It is VERY laborious to have to do 'housekeeping' on ancestry.com. After I obtained Legacy Family Tree (v6 was my first) I began keeping duplicate trees as I my original trees were with Family Tree Maker and ancestry.com which I inherited from now deceased family members who started our big family tree. Just as a note, the newer versions of Family Tree Maker has a sync feature that is nice but it creates LOTS of duplictes - both individuals and Events if one is not very careful when running the sync process. Also, you can't actually delete an ancestry.com tree once it is created. Nor can you merge a GEDCOM to an existing Ancestry.com tree. Honestly, given my experience over the last 10+ years follow Eliz's advice, see how it works and if you still want your tree on ancestry.com start with a new tree created one individual at a time so you will have the results you want. Hope something here helps you and maybe other LUG members who are looking into uploading the Legacy tree to Ancestry.com. I am not sure you can. What you can do is "save" to your ancestry tree and people can view the census from there.
