Hello,
I've searched the mail archives and didn't find much info on how to cite an obituary found on legacy.com. One archived message indicates using "newspaper" but I'm struggling with that - choices being: Newspapers>online images (issued by unrelated content provider) Newspapers>online archives (issued by the publisher) In the first, the obituaries I've seen on legacy.com aren't actual images of the original obituary. In the second, the obituary IS in an archived location but (here's where I may be way off in my thinking) but it isn't issued by the publisher. I don't understand what legacy.com really is. It appears to be something that "scrapes" these obituaries from funeral homes' websites and/or newspapers, but it also looks like the newspapers are perfectly happy with that arrangement? Some even appear to actually be from the newspaper but if you look at the URL, you'll see "legacy.com" in there. I'm very confused. I just can't decide who/what/where this obituary is that I'm attempting to cite. Probably overthinking it, as I tend to do, but would truly appreciate some guidance on this.
