How about  just adding the word "now"

My  thought would be that since you photographed the grave marker in the
present the correct location would be Winnipeg since that is what the
current location is named. Perhaps if you had an old photo taken when
the area was still named Assinaboi then Assinaboi would be an
appropriate name for the place where the marker was  photographed.
