David - they would need a copy of Legacy family tree to open your database.


This is one way:  Use a cloud service.

WHATEVER you do -provide ONLY a copy of your database, perhaps paired down
to the section they are interested in.

When they have "updated" - then check the data & if you agree - then YOU -
add the info to your real family tree.  Cloud services such as Dropbox &
other cloud services - will allow any person you choose to look & open
anything you have placed in the"cloud".  Click & it will give you a linc to
email to your specific relative.

To create a copy - just left click & copy your .ftb - then drag & drop into
you shared cloud (usually found C:\Users\NAME\Documents\Legacy Family
Tree\Data\Legacy\NAME OF.fdb)

Throughout all of this: BACKUP - again & again & again.

Never, Ever, No not ever, - allow a 3rd person to edit your database.
