Sally,

I appreciate what you say below. Software does make people cranky -
especially when you have some experience of writing programs. In fact,
my first computer program filled 2 boxes of punch cards. They made
beautiful gold wreaths at Christmas time.

I used the free software when I was starting out because that was what
was available. But after a while found them to be lacking. I have
recently search an old hard drive and found that I have over 20 AFT
files that I need to work to covert (I also have the AFT install
programs). I used to use PAF5 because it was easy to interface with
FamilySearch (BTW I still have the install files and data files). All
of these programs (including Legacy) are only functional in the Windows
platform.

I understand raising the issue on the user group - but it is not
trashing the software publicly. If this forum is not the platform to
raise these issues, please let me know where to search further.

I agree that Legacy has a good package. But I have a problem that is a
result of the Legacy 8 upgrade and I would like to get it resolved.

Thanks for your advice.

John
