I put my census in under events as follows:Use "Census" as EventFor
Description I use "Household of John Doe"Date: Just year of
censusLocation: Location
By adding the household name under description, it prints a nice
sentence on your family group sheet like:"She was listed on the 1930
census in the household of John Doe in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA."
Let's you see immediately when she left home and got married.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Census Dates

 Hi June,
Interesting question and I'll bet there are others who did not enter
 dates.

Most of the Census takers did not work in the winter months.

I use Census for the Event,
Then for the description I put in "1850 Federal"
Then I put in the actual date located at the top of the Census Sheet
 Then the location.

So each year is a specific event, which makes searching for a
particular
 year Census event easy.
If you have done as I listed above, you might be able to edit the
individual event to include a range of dates:
 Sorta like this: 1 Mar 1850 > 31 Nov 1850

This should change each person's information who has a Census record
for
 1850.
The other option would be to eliminate the date field.

 Hope this helps,
 Martha
