It affects only the last generation in the chart. You only used two generations if you make it three the spouses will be included for the 2nd generation and will be missing for the 3rd.

Firstly, the columns in the Descendant View have no relationship to
the contents of the Descendant Chart available from the print button.

The report contents are set by the report screen and the Report
Options > Include Tab. Number of generations is on the main report
screen and what is in the details are defined by the include tab.

The spouses are not listed in the box with their partner they have
their own line on the report followed by the children that partner
    had with them.

    Partner details
      +spouse 1 details
Children with spouse 1 each with their own spouses and descendants
      +spouse 2 details
Children with spouse 2 again each with their own spouses and
    descendants.

If their were lots of kids with spouse 1 and they had many children
and generations the details for spouse 2 can be several pages away
from the details for the partner.

I see though that in the chart there are no spouses shown for the
last generation. That problem is recorded in our problem reporting
system. I have added this report to that issue.

I have created a descendant chart, as follows:

From the family view, click on the Descendant tab.
        Click on the Options button.
Click on Customize display. Select 2 generations.
             Click on Customize columns
Under Field Name (Descendants) select Birth Date and
        Place; Death
Date and ; Marriage 1st Spouse Name; Marriage 2nd Spouse Name.

Click on Save (enter filename), click on Close.

Click on the Print Button, select PDF File.
Click on the Create button, enter the filename, click on Save.

The chart that results includes the name of the 1st generation
        spouse,
        but no other spouses.

What have I failed to do??

        Thanks!

        Pat
