If I could bump into this discussion. I never noticed Legacy Family Tree in my Documents folder but there isn't much in it:
data empty
PDFs empty
Temple Cards empty
Legacyfs says the program is 7.5 (which is correct)
Legacy NFS list of files but non of them are clickable
Legfsnews has various tips and warnings about what 7.5 cannot now do
Store 8 fsd empty
Winsettings 8

Perhaps these last two files are because I started by mistake to download Legacy 8.

Do these all look OK. I wonder about the empty ones.

Thanks
Barbara

You should have Legacy files in both locations. Your working files are in the Documents area and are in a series of folders under the Legacy Family Tree folder. Those are the files used by Legacy when you are running the program.

The Program Files (x86) area contain both files for the program (the executables) and also contains templates for the files and folders in the documents area so there are duplicate folders there for the folders in your documents area.

When a new user first starts Legacy the program creates a set of folders and files in that user's documents by copying the template files from the folders in the Program Files (x86) area so do not delete those duplicates from the program files area.

(To begin, I have Windows 10 OS, Legacy 8 Deluxe Version 8.0.0.538 Build

I recently had computer problems (start menu not working) and turned

He moved all of my files so that my Legacy program files are now located

It seems to me the Leg program files should not be located in a
Documents folder and should instead be located here:

Desktop > This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files (x86)

and, in fact, when I go to the latter location I discover this> Desktop
 > This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Legacy 8.

/So-o-o-o/, I don't know what to do or how to do it. Advice, please.
