Ah, yes.
Thanks.

Terry,

When you unlink a spouse, the screen shows which one retains not only the children but any marriage information. So if you've added any marriage information then this doesn't help. You would be unlinking Alma from John for John to retain the children AND his marriage information relating to Alma.

Thanks, Cathy.
All went smoothly.

But I got to thinking ...
What would have happened if I had unlinked John from Alma? Would he
have 'got' the children?
Then when he is linked to his first wife, would she become their
mother? And when he relinks to Alma as his second wife would she show
as step-mother?

Just wondering.

Terry,

they have to be unlinked from the wrong couple and linked to the
right couple. First enter the other wife (and while you are thinking
about marriages, check they are in the right order in the spouse list).

Then it can be easier to link to the right couple first so they don't
get "lost". Note you add a new set (second set) of parents and choose
to link to existing parents.

Don't try to link to one parent at a time when you know both. If you
do you create another relationship for them to an unknown partner.

I have a family, father John, mother Alma. I had presumed John's
children were Alma's and have put them in Legacy as such.

Now I realise they were John's from a previous marriage. I can give
him another wife easily enough. Is there an easy way to transfer the
children?
