master source from one file to another.

Tag in first file (make sure it's the only tagged item). Close that file.
Open new file. Go to master source list and import Master Source - tagged
only

Try making a dummy person, then attach the sources you want copied, then
copy the dummy person to the new file. 

In the help file: Copying Between Family Files, also see autsourcing at the
bottom of the page.
